Description
This is a 1986 Kawasaki KDX-200 C-1 that is completely restored and ready for your collection! This bike is considered a restomod. It is not a factory correct restoration because of the upgrades made to the bike. All parts are powder coated on the bike in the following list:
Frame, Swing Arm, Fork Tubes, Tripple Trees, Trip Meter Mount and Cable Guides, Handle Bars and Risers, Throttle housing, Clutch Perch, Engine Mount Brackets Upper and Lower, Rear Brake Pedal, Rear Brake Rod and Hub Brake Lever, Wheel Hubs Front and Rear, Uni Trac Suspension Dog Bone and Rocker Arm, Right and Left engine Cases, Engine Right Side Clutch Cover, Gear Shift Lever, Right and Left Side Power Valve Covers, Air Box Plate, Remote Rear Shock Reservoir Hose Spring, Rear Shock Body and Spanner Rings, Rear Shock Spring and Upper Spring Retainer, Rear Shock Remote Reservoir.
The suspension is rebuilt front and rear. The rear shock is not charged with nitrogen but we will charge it before it leaves upon sale of the bike. The front forks have new upper and lower fork bush’s and new seals and wipers with new fork boots and all the fork boot bands. The rear shock has a new shock head,”piston”, new upper and lower shock bearings, new upper o-rings, new remote reservoir line with new banjo fittings on both ends and the protection spring is powder coated chrome. New swing arm bearings, steering bearings and wheel bearings and seals are new. All engine bearings, seals and gaskets were replaced on the bike. The engine has a new rod, bearings and piston. The cylinder is 3rd oversize and it is fresh out of the machine shop with no run time on it and can not be bored again. The cylinder and stator cover are spray painted black because powder coating the cylinder will make the engine run hot and the stator cover is plastic. The bike has new Excel Takasago Gold Rims with stainless steel new spokes and new gold anodized spoke nipples, New rim bands, bead locks and tubes. We use Dunlop Tires and the bike has new Dunlop Tires front and rear. It has a new O-Ring chain and new sprockets front and rear. The front sprocket chain guard is aluminum. New chain rollers, swing arm chain guard and rear lower chain guide. New dog bone link cover. We still have the original rims that go with the bike. The original rims have been powder coated aluminum color the same as the chassis and swing arm. The gas tank was polished by JSD Racing in Arizona. The seat has new foam and a custom made seat cover. New reproduction factory graphics. The bike has aftermarket wide foot pegs, bark busters, new tail light lens, new headlight number plate, headlight and bulb. The Trip Meter was restored and it works but the left side LCD screen is separated and it works but you cant see the full read out on it, see picture. We are looking for another screen for the trip meter and we will replace the bad screen as soon as we find a replacement. The right side screen works properly. It has a new old stock trip meter sender unit on the front wheel. New front brake pads, the front disc brake caliper has been rebuilt, new rear brake shoes with new return springs and new usable range pointer. New front brake hydraulic hose and new rear brake lever return spring. Throttle cable and clutch cable are new with new cable adjusters on the lever perches and the handle bars are new. New spark plug, kick stand and tool pouch and kick start lever. It has a new engine hour meter on it and new clutch friction discs in it also. Most bolts on the bike were replaced with stainless steel bolts,”KDX Bolt Kit”. All other bolts on the bike were blasted clean and used on the bike after we inspected them for still being good. There are no hardware store bolts on this bike! New air filter, new aluminum after market intake manifold, new G Force reed valves, Carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt. New Kawasaki Handle Grips, new aluminum brake and clutch levers and a new throttle tube. The bike has the original tank and the petcock has been rebuilt, all other plastics are new. It has an FMF Gold Series pipe on it from the 80’s and a DG Silencer from the 80’s we thought was cool and period correct so we put them back on the bike. New exhaust pipe springs and stay mounts. We have a VIN Verification paper that goes with the bike to prove that it is not stolen and we have the owners manual that goes with the bike also. There is no title with the bike. This bike has not been started because we have it on display and do not want fuel in the bike while on display. We will fire the bike and make any and all adjustments to it upon sale of the bike, same thing as a dealer of new bikes does. We can crate the bike and ship it anywhere if you can’t come get it. This bike is better than it was in 1986 because there were no powder coated parts on it back then and the rims, spokes and spoke nipples are modern technology. Parts for this bike and many of our vintage bikes are sometimes very hard to find and or just don’t exist anymore so this bike is totally restored to a restomod and parts came for all over the planet to restore it to its present condition which is very high end! We are not making any profit on this bike at all. The price of the bike is determined by adding up all of the parts and the powder coating with no labor charge on the bike at all. We realize the price is very high for this year make and model but unfortunately the price is what it cost to restore the bike and we do all of the powder coating and work to the bike here in house. We use another company for the cylinder boring and the upholstery work, other than that we do everything else in house. The sale price is not negotiable because that is what it cost to build the bike.
